Noon-Thirty
Leaving New Smyrna

We got home from Russia on Saturday night, 5/24/14.  Still on Russian time, I was up at 4AM getting laundry started and planning our next trip – packing the motorhome and leaving for Yellowstone.

Dave brought the MH over on Sunday and we started getting it ready.  Kids came over on Monday for a “trip review” of Russia, to get their Vodka and wish us a good summer.  We  had the MH packed up and out of the driveway by Tuesday noon.

It seemed so simple when I was planning all of this in April but the execution was a bugger.  Fighting through fatigue, time change issues and the wonderful Florida heat, it’s a miracle we got out at all!

Of course our first top was in Wesley Chapel to pick up Billy who was vacationing on “Aunt Mary’s” farm while we were away.  He was reluctant to leave his “doggie heaven” but loyalty prevailed and he got into the motorhome!  I sympathized with him … on the farm he can be a dog – running and playing.  But, we love him so we were not going to leave him behind.  He seems to have adjusted well!

We got as far as Ocala area stopping at Wandering Oaks Campground, a Passport America spot.  Great price, $16. Hooked up to water and electric and was in bed by  8:30 the first night.  Since we are somewhat still on Russian time, we woke up bright and early the next morning to continue our trek north.

Columbus GA was stop number two  staying at the Auburn RV Park in close proximity to Auburn University. This was a more expensive night, $40, but we were in a pull through next to a babbling brook if that makes a difference!  Weren’t there long enough to have an opinion before we left for Memphis, TN.
